The DIY Plywood Light Box is a self-assembly illuminated display that goes together in minutes using cable ties — no tools required beyond a pair of scissors to trim the ties at the end. The frame is unfinished plywood, ready for you to customise with paint, dye, oil, or stain to suit your space. An acrylic front panel and plastic back complete the structure once assembled.

Each kit comes complete with an LED bulb, a black bulb holder with switch, and a UK plug — no wiring required, just plug in. Choose your cable tie colour at the time of order from eight options: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, black, or white. The cable ties thread through pre-drilled holes around the frame perimeter and become part of the visible aesthetic.

Available blank for your own graphics, or with a full-colour print produced in-house and matt laminated. Designed for indoor use, it suits cafés, bars, retail, studios, and any setting where a DIY or artisan aesthetic fits the brand.

Care Instructions

Dust the plywood frame with a soft dry cloth. If you have sealed or painted the wood, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
Clean the acrylic front panel with a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive pads that will scratch the acrylic surface.
Do not use solvent-based cleaners on the acrylic or on any painted or stained wood finish.
This light box is designed for indoor use only — do not expose it to rain or moisture.
If a cable tie breaks, it can be replaced with a standard-size cable tie in the same colour.

FAQs

How difficult is it to assemble?

Very straightforward. Thread the cable ties through the pre-drilled holes, tighten to hold the panels in place, and trim the excess with scissors. Most customers have it assembled in under 30 minutes.

Can I finish the plywood myself?

Yes — that is the intention. The plywood arrives unfinished and is ready for paint, stain, dye, oil, or wax. The finish is entirely up to you.

Can I add graphics after purchase?

Yes. If you order the blank version, you can apply your own graphics later, or contact sales@goodwinandgoodwin.com to order a printed panel separately.

Is this suitable for outdoor use?

No. The DIY Plywood Light Box is designed for indoor use only.

Can I choose the cable tie colour?

Yes. Select your preferred colour at checkout from red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, black, or white.

Do you provide a proof before printing?

Yes. We always email a PDF proof for your approval before any printing begins.
