Projecting Signs
The shape, size, material, and finish are all made to order. Whether you want a traditional hanging pub sign, a clean metal blade sign for a boutique, or an illuminated projecting lightbox for a restaurant entrance, we’ll design and build it to suit your exact frontage and brand.
Every projecting sign we make is built for exterior use — engineered to withstand the British climate and maintain its finish through wind, rain, and UV without constant maintenance. Double-sided by default, with mounting systems designed for the specific wall or fascia type your premises has.
A projecting sign works harder than any flat wall panel. Mounted perpendicular to the building — which is why they’re also called perpendicular signs or arm signs — they’re visible from both directions along a street, catching the eye of pedestrians before they’re close enough to read anything else. For businesses on busy high streets, in arcades, or on corners, it’s often the most effective single piece of signage you can invest in.
Goodwin & Goodwin handcrafts projecting signs in London for retailers, hospitality businesses, salons, and offices that want something well-made and distinctly their own. Our range spans double-sided hanging signs in painted timber, metal blade signs in brushed or powder-coated finishes, illuminated lightbox projecting signs for visibility at night, and bespoke bracket-mounted pieces built to specification. Also known as gallows signs or swing signs in the trade, they’re a format with centuries of history — we make them with the same care that history deserves. We fabricate the sign and the bracket as a coordinated unit — there’s no off-the-shelf fixing that doesn’t quite fit.
