Gold Polished Stainless Steel Frame

• Wipe the frame with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove fingerprints, dust, and light marks. For heavier soiling, dampen the cloth with mild soapy water, wipe, and dry immediately.
• Avoid abrasive cloths, scouring pads, or harsh chemical cleaners — these can scratch the polished finish.
• Do not use bleach-based or chloride-containing cleaners on stainless steel, as these can damage the surface over time.
• The gold polished stainless steel finish will not tarnish — no polishing or specialist treatment is required.
• For outdoor installations, wipe down periodically to remove grime, salt deposits (in coastal locations), and environmental build-up.

Front Panel (Glass or Acrylic)

• Clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. For glass, a glass cleaner applied to the cloth (not directly to the panel) works well. For acrylic, use mild soapy water only — avoid solvent-based cleaners which can craze the surface.
• Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the front panel.

Lock & Key

• Keep the lock mechanism free from dirt and debris. If stiff, a small amount of graphite lubricant (not oil-based) can be applied to the lock.

Printed Artwork (if inserted)

• The menu case protects printed artwork behind the locked front panel. If the print becomes faded or outdated, it can be removed and replaced with a new print.
• Contact us if you need replacement printed inserts.

Electrical Components (Illuminated version)

• LEDs are low voltage and rated for up to 40,000 hours — no routine maintenance is required.
• The illuminated version is hardwired — do not attempt to modify the electrical connection. Contact a qualified electrician for any servicing.
• Switch off at the mains during extended periods of non-use.

General

• Inspect wall fixings periodically to ensure the case remains securely mounted.
• For outdoor installations, use corrosion-resistant fixings appropriate for your wall type.

Is it actually made of brass?

No — despite the name, the case is made from gold polished stainless steel, which has the warm gold appearance of brass without the tarnishing. Real brass requires regular polishing to maintain its finish; this product requires none. The stainless steel construction also makes it more suitable for outdoor use.

What is the difference between the illuminated and non-illuminated versions?

The illuminated version has LED lighting fitted inside, making the display visible in low light and at night — ideal for restaurant entrances and outdoor installations. It requires hardwired connection by a qualified electrician. The non-illuminated version is a lockable display case with no lighting.

Does the illuminated version just plug in?

No — the illuminated version is fitted with a connector block in the rear and requires connection by a qualified electrician. It is not a plug-in unit.

What goes inside the case?

The case is designed to display a printed menu or poster behind the locked front panel. Contact us at sales@goodwinandgoodwin.com to discuss printed insert options.

Can I upload my own design for the insert?

What sizes are available?

A4, A3, and A2 — in landscape or portrait orientation.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes — the gold polished stainless steel construction and lockable case make it well suited to outdoor installation. For the illuminated version, ensure all electrical connections are appropriately weatherproofed by your electrician.

Does it come with a lock and keys?

Yes — the case is fitted with a lockable door and comes with two keys.

How is it fixed to the wall?

How long does it take to make?

Please allow 2–3 weeks — the case is made to order.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — all new signage is covered by a 12-month warranty against material defects from the date of delivery.

Do you offer installation?

Yes. We have a dedicated installation team for site surveys and fitting. A half-day installation is £395 + VAT; a site survey is £95 + VAT. For the illuminated version, electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Contact us to arrange.
