Plywood Letters on Wooden Bars are a warm, tactile alternative to painted or illuminated signage. Chunky 18mm thick plywood letters are mounted onto horizontal wooden slatted bars to create a single unified sign up to 2m long — a look that draws on vintage American barn signage and industrial workshop typography, and sits naturally in cafés, restaurants, bars, retail spaces, and creative offices.

Any word of up to 10 characters can be produced. The natural plywood finish gives an honest, unfussy material quality that works well in interior schemes using timber, brick, or raw finishes. Custom sizes, colours, and fonts are available on request

Care Instructions
  • For indoor use only — do not expose to moisture, rain, or humid conditions, which can cause the plywood to warp or delaminate
  • Dust with a soft dry cloth. Avoid damp cloths directly on raw or painted plywood surfaces
  • If the sign is painted or varnished, clean with a very slightly damp cloth and dry immediately
  • Keep away from direct heat sources such as radiators or open fireplaces, which can dry out and crack the timber
  • Check the wall fixings periodically to ensure the sign remains secure, particularly for larger or heavier pieces.

Can I choose any word?

Yes, up to 10 characters. This includes letters, spaces, and any punctuation. If your word or phrase is longer than 10 characters, contact sales@goodwinandgoodwin.com to discuss a custom solution.

Can I get a custom font or colour?

Yes. Custom fonts and painted finishes are available. Contact us at sales@goodwinandgoodwin.com with your requirements and we'll provide a quote. A design service is available from £50 if you need help developing the layout.

What does the sign look like assembled?

The plywood letters are mounted on horizontal wooden slatted bars that span the full width of the sign, giving it a cohesive panel-like appearance rather than individual floating letters. The slatted bar backing is part of the finished product.

Can I get a larger sign?

The standard maximum length is 2m. For longer signs or different configurations, contact sales@goodwinandgoodwin.com for a bespoke quote.
